Using Homemade Biodiesel to Fuel Your Car

Most people never imagine the possibility of creating their own fuel at home. Instead they fill up their gas tanks and pay someone else a small fortune. They do this to keep their vehicle on the road and continue to do it week after week.

Homemade biodiesel fuel is both easy to use and very inexpensive. Possibly the most appealing thing about it is that anyone can produce and use it. All you need is the right equipment and a vehicle that runs on diesel fuel.

When you are first considering the switch to biodiesel fuel you’ll need to research what type of processor you want. The equipment needed to produce homemade biodiesel can now be purchased in many places. Models range from small to large and their size is normally indicative of the volume of fuel that is produced.

In addition to the processor you’ll need just a few other things to begin making homemade biodiesel. You’ll need natural oil. Vegetable, canola or palm tree oil can all be used. If you have a substantial amount of used oil to dispose of this is a perfect solution. In fact many restaurants will gladly give you their used oil so that you can make homemade biodiesel. They are responsible for discarding it in an environmentally safe manner which can be expensive.

You’ll also need an electrical outlet. Most biodiesel processors that are on the market today do not produce foul odors but still it’s a wise idea to have it placed somewhere outside your main residence. Water is also needed.

Any thing that you have that runs on diesel can also use homemade biodiesel. This includes vehicles and generators. You may notice that you’ll need to use a bit more of the homemade fuel but the savings will still be very large.

Making your own fuel can be both satisfying and smart. You’ll feel great knowing that you never again have to give your hard earned money to an oil company.
